Surgery’s over…

Everything seemed to go well.  I had an awesome surgeon!  He told my Mom that my gall bladder was chronically inflamed.  Well, I guess that explains my pain and nausea!  I’m on pain killers trying to fight the pain, but I’m managing thus far.  At least the constant pain and nausea is gone now!  That’s a huge relief.  The fact that I can actually eat something and now want to be sick is going to be a definite plus!  Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers!  I’ll be back to losing and feeling great in no time at all!

Surgery’s scheduled!

I will have my gall bladder removed on Tuesday afternoon!  I was a little taken aback when he said they had reserved a slot for me if I wanted it, otherwise I’d have to wait until after the first of the year.  I said Tuesday was fine and I’d make arrangements.  Thankfully my mother will be able to take off on Tuesday for my surgery.  Our main concern will be having one of the girls drive my truck home.  Hopefully, after Tuesday, I’ll be feeling much better!  In case I don’t get back to the site beforehand, HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all my wonderful Buddies!  Those I’ve met and those I still have to meet!  Take care and have a BLESSED holiday season!

After all those tests…

The doctor said that he thought it was my gall bladder because of the location of the pain, symptoms, etc.  The way it seems, I have pretty much had a perpetual gall bladder attack for the last 2 months.  He has referred me to a surgeon to remove my gall bladder.  He looks good on paper.  I will see about his bedside manner on Thursday afternoon.  I think I will probably know more after that time.

Well…just when you think it’s safe…

I really thought it was just something simple like the sinus infection and bronchitis…it couldn’t be that easy for me!  I thought it was a reaction to a medication that they put me on!  Apparently not!  I’m still having pain and it’s just below my rib cage.  I went back to CareNow because I was still running a temp.  They sent me to the ER.  They sent me home with a papers that said that I had Fever from an Unknown Source (DUH!).  They did an ultrasound, more xrays (to verify it wasn’t pneumonia), blood cultures, urine cultures…I’ve had blood taken at least 4 times in the last month!  I had and MRCP done last week and was hoping that the MRCP would be the test that would tell them what was wrong…but apparently not.  I’m scheduled for a CCK/HIDA scan tomorrow afternoon which is supposed to tell them if my gall bladder is working properly.   I also have an EGD scheduled for Friday afternoon.  I am really hoping the CCK/HIDA scan will be the test to tell them what’s going on!  Well, we’ll see what happens tomorrow!  Hopefully tomorrow I will know more!
